What is PeekScore?: PeekScore is a rank from 1 to 10, assigned to every person. The higher someone’s score, the “more important” they are on the web. In calculating your PeekScore and updating it often, PeekYou takes into account your known presence and activity on the Internet, including but not limited to; your blogging, participation in social networks, the number of your friends, followers, or readers, the amount of web content you create, and your prominence in the news.
It is still, as of this writing, only under two years ago that MTV made the unprepared world aware of The Situation and Snooki, by thrusting upon we innocents their unexpected pop culture phenomenon reality series Jersey Shore (or, as it’s known in Japan, Macaroni Rascals). Yet it feels like they’ve been around forever.
The program – for the precious (perhaps blessed) few who remain unfamiliar – documents in ostensible “fly on the wall,” cinéma vérité style, the comings and goings of a group of theoretical Italian Americans, as they spend time together sharing a house in this resort area or that. The first season took place in New Jersey’s Seaside Heights, and subsequent seasons have found the gang in such places as Miami, and the season currently airing (the fourth) has them in Florence, Italy.
We’ll spare you commentary on the program itself, as in our view it’s sufficiently entertaining and doing no one any harm. We begrudge not the cast their success, as it’s not easy to maintain either those abdominal muscles or those tans, and besides they seem self-aware enough. We also harbor no ill-will toward the program’s millions of fans, whatever their reasons for watching. In the grand scheme of vices, spending time viewing a silly TV show ranks pretty low (as do, for that matter, the arguably superficial lifestyles of the show’s cast).
Anyway, all of the cast are to varying degrees quite famous, all of them are on Twitter, all of them have personal websites, and their PeekScores reflect this.
