Jodie Foster is about to release her first directorial effort in 16 years. It would seem that in the time between wrapping filming and actually releasing the thing, her leading man went a touch bonkers and inadvertently became a bit of a thorn in the side of the film’s promotion. Still, for all that hubbub, it seems that some of the reviews have been positive, and it remains to be seen whether Mel’s personal controversy – particularly given the film’s subject matter, and troubled protagonist – may even help the film’s box office. We surely exist in a culture where such a thing is well within the realm of possibility.
Now, it would be really easy for us to turn this into a series of cheap shots at the expense of Mel Gibson and his assorted troubles. PeekYou, though, is bigger than that. It seems Mr. Gibson has said and done some pretty rotten things in the past few years, but PeekYou divorces itself from publicly opining on such matters, or damning anyone (privately, of course, we condemn all sorts of folks; for example, just off the top of our heads, bigots and men who hit women… but make of that what you will). Instead of focusing on the negative, we choose to dedicate our attentions to Mad Max, The Road Warrior, and to a lesser, but still very real, degree Beyond Thunderdome. We don’t just choose to dwell on these things now, solely in the context of this entry, but in general. It is a life-choice, nay calling, to always be keeping such concerns foremost in our thoughts.
So, while seeing how the main cast of The Beaver measure up against one another, PeekScore-wise, keep in mind that if Max Rockatansky were a real person, so high would his PeekScore be (somewhere, most likely, in the area of about a billion-quazillion), he’d be at the top of every one these lists.

Mel Gibson | Do not misconstrue the meaning of Mr. Gibson topping this list. We in no way endorse, defend, nor support Mr. Gibson’s behavior; although we do still think The Road Warrior is badass.

Jodie Foster | The Bugsy Malone star has won two Oscars(R), and unwittingly played muse to a would-be assassin. All in all, Jodie’s has not been a boring life.

Jennifer Lawrence | This former star of The Bill Engvall Show was nominated for an Oscar(R) for last year’s Winter’s Bone
