Which of the Living Children of U.S. Presidents has the Largest Digital Footprint?

What is PeekScore?: PeekScore is a rank from 1 to 10, assigned to every person. The higher someone’s score, the “more important” they are on the web. In calculating your PeekScore and updating it often, PeekYou takes into account your known presence and activity on the Internet, including but not limited to; your blogging, participation in social networks, the number of your friends, followers, or readers, the amount of web content you create, and your prominence in the news. For first time visitors a more in-depth explanation of what the PeekScore is, and how to increase your own, can be found by clicking through here.

Some have followed in the political footsteps of their famous fathers (and at least one really did so), some have maintained public lives in other ways — as philanthropists, activists, broadcasters, and such — and others still have chosen to live their lives more quietly. But the one thing they all have in common is that they are each the offspring of a gentleman who at one time held the highest elected office in the U.S. government.

We’re not judging nor grading their accomplishments, but instead we’re looking at their assorted presences and impacts here on the Web (their “digital footprints,” as it were, a concept outlined in this entry’s header, and more in depth here).

There was little doubt who we’d find atop this list, as — whatever your opinion of him — even five years out of office, his is a name which is mentioned often. His impactfulness in the world at large translates fully to cyberspace. But the order of the names which follow may hold some surprises for you. They did for us.

Which of the Music Industry’s Most Powerful People has the Largest PeekScore?

What is PeekScore?: PeekScore is a rank from 1 to 10, assigned to every person. The higher someone’s score, the “more important” they are on the web. In calculating your PeekScore and updating it often, PeekYou takes into account your known presence and activity on the Internet, including but not limited to; your blogging, participation in social networks, the number of your friends, followers, or readers, the amount of web content you create, and your prominence in the news. For first time visitors a more in-depth explanation of what the PeekScore is, and how to increase your own, can be found by clicking through here.

Back in January, Billboard Magazine compiled and published what they called The 2013 Power 100; their list of who they’d determined to be the 100 most powerful people (or, in a handful of instances, groupings of people) in the music industry.

In recent years, the nature of the business, and the sorts of folks who hold power within it have changed quite a lot. It’s an interesting list, with a few surprises, and can be seen in full here.

What does this have to do with PeekYou and PeekScores? Well, if you’ve not already guessed we’ll tell you. We’ve decided to take the top 50 entries from Billboard’s 2013 Power 100 and analyze and compare not their various powers within the music industry, but instead their assorted impacts and presences here in our beloved World Wide Web. Simply, using the PeekScore scale we’re taking a look at these music moguls’ digital footprints (an explanation of which can be found above, or more in-depth by clicking through here).

The folks topping our list should surprise no one, as they’re two legitimate television stars in addition to their monumental behind the scenes juice. But even once we descend the list and begin to observe cyber-impacts more approaching those of mere mortals, the PeekScores remain on the rather healthy side. Some of these folks have a social media presence, and some are somewhat famous outside of the biz, but mostly the scores are as robust as they are due to the routine coverage in the music and finance trades that people in their positions of influence tend to receive.

Quick disclaimer: While we’re only looking at the top 50 slots from Billboard’s list today, our list is a bit longer due to Billboard including the occasional pair and/or trio of folks on theirs.

Which of America’s Top Radio Personalities Has the Largest Digital Footprint?

What is PeekScore?: PeekScore is a rank from 1 to 10, assigned to every person. The higher someone’s score, the “more important” they are on the web. In calculating your PeekScore and updating it often, PeekYou takes into account your known presence and activity on the Internet, including but not limited to; your blogging, participation in social networks, the number of your friends, followers, or readers, the amount of web content you create, and your prominence in the news. For first time visitors a more in-depth explanation of what the PeekScore is, and how to increase your own, can be found by clicking through here.

From the gentle tones of public radio, to the abrasive exclamations of the political talk airwaves, to the anything goes environs of satellite broadcasting, with this PeekScore list we’re taking a look at the online lives and impacts of American radio’s many, varied, and most famous voices.

The controversial gentleman narrowly edging out the competition and topping our list is the host of a reasonably popular syndicated show. Many may be surprised to learn that here in cyberspace he’s the king of the radio pack. However, anyone who frequents political blogs and message boards can tell you that many of Mr. Jones’ fans – who frequently and unabashedly share his worldview and agree with his theories – gather and make their presence known and felt throughout the Web. Indeed, it is here in cyberspace more so than anywhere apart from the airwaves that Alex Jones is clearly a big deal.

Of course, it should be added that PeekScores do change. If we were to run these scores again in a month or two, the enormously influential pundit at number two could quite easily find himself on top, or perhaps the legend at number four would for a moment truly be – as he so often has proclaimed – the King of All Media. But at this time – with many large scores to be found, and a strong Internet presence to be detected for the majority of those named below – these are how the PeekScores stack up.

Is your favorite radio personality included below? If no, who might that be? Any surprises for you here? Any thoughts? Let us know in the comments.

The Digital Footprints of the Year’s Highest Paid Musical Acts

What is PeekScore?: PeekScore is a rank from 1 to 10, assigned to every person. The higher someone’s score, the “more important” they are on the web. In calculating your PeekScore and updating it often, PeekYou takes into account your known presence and activity on the Internet, including but not limited to; your blogging, participation in social networks, the number of your friends, followers, or readers, the amount of web content you create, and your prominence in the news.

The music industry may be in a bit of a shambles in recent years, but try telling that to the ten folks listed below; each of whom fell asleep last night on a pile of money and awoke this morning on a different, bigger pile of money. They earn their keep (and oh boy, do they!) making with the tunes, even while the record labels scramble and panic, and we civilians come to regard recorded music on demand as something akin to running water.

Forbes has lately been blessing we of the (at least relatively) broke and curious class with their annual “top paid” lists for this profession or that, and just a few weeks ago bestowed upon us mere fiscal mortals their list of the year’s highest paid musicians. As we’ve done previously with other such lists – and will likely do until there’s no internet left for us to do it upon/within – we’ve arranged these fabulous popsters not by their heights, weights, ages, or numbers of records sold, but according to the sizes of their digital footprints as measured upon our handy, dandy PeekScore scale.

Ms. Germanotta, unsurprisingly, tops our list. Sir Macca, only slightly more surprisingly – until you think about it for even five seconds – holds strong at number 2. The vocalist for the year’s biggest money makers, even for all his global fame and import, just hasn’t left his mark here in cyberspace in the way many of his less well financially rewarded peers have, and lurks shadily at the list’s bottom. We can’t say that we mind the internet being a reasonably Bono-light zone, but we know we don’t speak for all.

Talk to us in the comments section. Complain or praise us. Tell us what you think of Gaga, Elton, Bono, or whomever. Just say hello.
