The 30 Country Singers with the Largest Digital Footprints

What is PeekScore?: PeekScore is a rank from 1 to 10, assigned to every person. The higher someone’s score, the “more important” they are on the web. In calculating your PeekScore and updating it often, PeekYou takes into account your known presence and activity on the Internet, including but not limited to; your blogging, participation in social networks, the number of your friends, followers, or readers, the amount of web content you create, and your prominence in the news. For first time visitors a more in-depth explanation of what the PeekScore is, and how to increase your own, can be found by clicking through here.

These aren’t necessarily the best-selling country acts, although many of them are included here, nor is this a list of the most influential, although a handful of performers of whom that can be said can be found below. This list features the 30 country singers currently most prominent in cyberspace, as measured on our PeekScore scale.

While sure to be controversial, we must stress that this list reflects no bias on our part. The list leans heavily toward modern acts, particularly those most active at social media; with a majority of the acts below having over a million friends and/or followers on Facebook and/or Twitter, and sometimes both. The singer topping the list would top nearly any PeekScore list she was on, as she’s simply one of the internet’s most inescapable faces. Her runner-up is no PeekScore slouch herself; and while a former American Idol winner, and mainstream pop-culture figure, perhaps still considered a more legitimate country singer than our number one.

The most pleasant surprises for us were the incredibly high showings of flat-out legends Dolly, Willie, and Loretta. And the biggest surprise was perhaps mega-platinum superstar Garth Brooks’ current digital footprint finding him just shy of the top 30.

Which of Maxim’s “Sexiest & Hottest Celebrities” Has the Largest Digital Footprint?

What is PeekScore?: PeekScore is a rank from 1 to 10, assigned to every person. The higher someone’s score, the “more important” they are on the web. In calculating your PeekScore and updating it often, PeekYou takes into account your known presence and activity on the Internet, including but not limited to; your blogging, participation in social networks, the number of your friends, followers, or readers, the amount of web content you create, and your prominence in the news. For first time visitors a more in-depth explanation of what the PeekScore is, and how to increase your own, can be found by clicking through here.

While there are many men within the vicinity of the PeekScore blog, we’re not a particularly “laddish” bunch. As we’ve detailed previously, right here in these very virtual pages, our firm exteriors merely protect — from some of the world’s more cruel and unsavory elements — tender hearts and extremely enlightened souls. Ranking humans based upon the degrees to which they are or are not “sexy” or “hot” is not really our area of expertise; those sorts of concerns being best left to lad mags, and the like, to debate and determine. We “digital footprints” blogs are far more concerned with inner-beauty (as quantified on our PeekScore scale).

What we can do, though, is let those concerned — in this instance the readers of popular men’s magazine Maxim — decide who’s sexiest, and then we can step in and see how the folks that they’ve deemed appealing measure up here in cyberspace. And here we’ve done just that.

We’ve taken the top 10 women from Maxim‘s recently published Hot 100 to see how they compare in terms not of their hotness, nor sexiness, nor popularity with men, but in terms of their impacts and presences here in cyberspace (their digital footprints, as it were, a brief explanation of which can found in this entry’s header, and a more in-depth explanation of which can be found here).

The American version of the enormously popular TV show / singing contest, The Voice, is now nearing the end of its fourth season. Inspired by the hubbub surrounding this occasion, we’ve put the program’s past and current hosts and judges through their PeekScore paces; measuring and comparing their assorted presences and impacts here on the Web, or if you prefer their “digital footprints” (a concept explained in this entry’s header and more in depth here).

This list is really rather straightforward. Here are ten of today’s most enormous female pop stars – some more veteran, some newer, all current huge sellers, award winners, and headline grabbers – measured and compared not based on the sizes of their record sales, nor the qualities of their recordings, but based upon the sizes of their impacts here on the Net (i.e., their digital footprints, an explanation of which can be found above, or more in depth by clicking through here).

They’re all under 30, and they’re all worth more than most if not even all of you reading (and certainly we writing). These are the past year’s ten entertainers under the age of 30 most handsomely remunerated for their efforts in being fabulous. Comparing their fortunes and/or their works as actors, musicians, and so forth is the work of other blogs, of course. What we here at the PeekScore blog intend to do with these ten vastly wealthy whipper-snappers is compare their various impacts here on the World Wide Web, as quantified on our PeekScore scale (an explanation of which can be found above, or more in depth by clicking through here).

The folks topping our list are all grade A PeekScore Goliaths, but still there are some slight surprises to be found in the exact order of how things have shaken out.

The Grammys have come and gone, and by now it’s pretty well known far and wide that the night’s big winner was British, blue-eyed soul songstress Adele. But is she the big winner here on the Internet? Well, as it just so happens, we here at the PeekScore blog believe we may have an answer to just such a question. And if you’ve been here before, you’re probably not surprised.

With this entry, we’ve taken this year’s big Grammy winners and ranked them according to the sizes of their digital footprints, as quantified on our PeekScore scale (an explanation of which can be found in brief above, or more in-depth by clicking through here). With the groups and duos who won – as PeekScores, at this time, only measure individuals – we’ve taken the most prominent members, and used their scores for this survey.

Which of the World’s Most Eligible Bachelors has the Largest Digital Footprint?

What is PeekScore?: PeekScore is a rank from 1 to 10, assigned to every person. The higher someone’s score, the “more important” they are on the web. In calculating your PeekScore and updating it often, PeekYou takes into account your known presence and activity on the Internet, including but not limited to; your blogging, participation in social networks, the number of your friends, followers, or readers, the amount of web content you create, and your prominence in the news. For first time visitors a more in-depth explanation of what the PeekScore is, and how to increase your own, can be found by clicking through here.

We here at the PeekScore blog don’t concern ourselves, traditionally, with contemplating the varying degrees to which this unattached gentleman or that is or is not “eligible.” We’re not particularly eager to see the world married off, and we don’t – for varying reasons – harbor much in the way of fantasies of being swept off our feet by handsome playboys and/or roguish princes. We don’t necessarily consider ourselves out of our depth here, as we’re not entirely without opinions on such things, but for the most part we remain ambivalent. So, please take this list in the spirit intended.

Some of these fellas are in longstanding relationships, and others are well known for not laying their heads in one place for long. The defining characteristics here are only that each of these men is unmarried and that each is some combination of incredibly wealthy and/or handsome (degrees of each do vary rather dramatically, and perception of the latter is subject to the eye of the beholder). In short, those who make it their business to assess these things more earnestly than we, often include these men when compiling their own lists of this nature.

But, we do not rate the superhunks, we do not judge the self-made men vs. those born into their fortunes (and sometimes their looks), nor do we speculate as to how gentle or kind this billionaire or that movie star might be. We rate the digital footprints of individuals (an explanation of which can be found above or by clicking through here), and that’s what we’ve done here today.

Are there any “eligible bachelors” we should have included instead? Do any of these PeekScores surprise you? Let us know in the comments.

Which of the (U.S.) X Factor judges has the largest PeekScore?

What is PeekScore?: PeekScore is a rank from 1 to 10, assigned to every person. The higher someone’s score, the “more important” they are on the web. In calculating your PeekScore and updating it often, PeekYou takes into account your known presence and activity on the Internet, including but not limited to; your blogging, participation in social networks, the number of your friends, followers, or readers, the amount of web content you create, and your prominence in the news.

In 2010, TV mega-producer and mega-personality Simon Cowell departed his highly paid spot as the most high profile judge on ratings juggernaut American Idol to focus on bringing stateside his U.K. megahit The X Factor. The U.K. version of this talent contest series, created by and featuring Cowell (who had been doing transatlantic double-duty, working on both it and Idol simultaneously), wound up becoming globally known in 2010 thanks to an unexpectedly impressive appearance by then unknown Scottish vocalist Susan Boyle going viral on the internet (Boyle is now a multi-platinum recording artist as a result).

The U.S. version of The X Factor has been running to very respectable ratings, and not without some controversy, for a while now, and will be reaching its finale at the end of this month. In honor of the mini-phenomenon and all the attention it’s receiving, we decided to take a look at the show’s four judges and see how they shake out after being put through the PeekScore wringer.

Although it’s a short list, the results surely surprised us. While Cowell is a PeekScore giant, as we’d have suspected, Nicole Scherzinger is nearly PeekScore royalty. While it’s difficult to imagine anyone being more of a press darling and general superstar than Cowell, it would seem that between her own formidable and well maintained social media presence, and her numerous mentions throughout the blogosphere and elsewhere, Nicole’s got the edge.

Have you been watching The X Factor this season? What have you thought of the show? Who’s been your favorite contestant? Who’s your favorite judge? Let us know in the comments.

Comparing the PeekScores of Famous Sibling Pairs

What is PeekScore?: PeekScore is a rank from 1 to 10, assigned to every person. The higher someone’s score, the “more important” they are on the web. In calculating your PeekScore and updating it often, PeekYou takes into account your known presence and activity on the Internet, including but not limited to; your blogging, participation in social networks, the number of your friends, followers, or readers, the amount of web content you create, and your prominence in the news.

It was suggested to us by a close colleague that we maybe try something different with our next PeekScore list. The suggestion was that instead of taking 10 or 20, or however many celebrities, athletes, poets, or whatever, and comparing the sizes of their digital footprints en masse, as we normally do, we take a bunch of different celebrity sibling pairs – as so many are kicking around and receiving notice these days – and pit them against each other in head-to-head PeekScore melees.

So, without much in the way of elaboration necessary, we suspect, that’s what you see below.

In most of these pairings there is an arguable “more famous” sibling, and most results conform to those popular perceptions. There are, however, some surprises to be found.

Although it’s not the most meaningful of bonus tales to tell, a master list of all the participants in these pairings, and where they fall PeekScore-wise in relation to each other, can be found at the bottom of this entry. We figure that some may be curious.

We know there are many sibling pairings we left out. Did we leave out any of your faves? Let us know in the comments.
