The Digital Footprints of the CEOs of 2011′s Most Successful Startups

The subject line may be a bit of a mouthful, but it’s pretty self-explanatory all the same. Although we’re just about nearing the end of 2012′s first quarter, it still seemed a decent time to take a look at the Internet startup companies which made the biggest splashes – both on the Web and in the business world – during the course of the still not that long ago passed previous year.

Here, employing our PeekScore scale, we’ve decided to see how the 11 entrepreneurial young men heading up each of these 10 companies compare to one another when it comes to their presences and impacts on the Web (or, if you prefer, their digital footprints; an explanation of which can be found above or more in depth by clicking through here).

Back in February, Forbes Magazine had former Sports Illustrated swimsuit model, Kathy Ireland, on its cover to accompany an article wherein it was revealed that – via her numerous contracts and clothing lines, and assorted business ventures – Ms. Ireland’s current net worth is somewhere in the neighborhood of about $315 million; astronomical earnings and holdings, which find her now the richest model on Earth. As you readers of the PeekScore blog seem to like it when we write about models, and nearly as much when we write about money, a list of this sort seemed a natural. We know that Ms. Ireland’s is the biggest pile of loot, but how does she measure up in comparison to the remainder of the world’s ten richest models when it comes to her presence and impact here on the web?

Doing as we always do, we’ve employed our amazing little PeekScore scale to see how these women – both photogenic and industrious out in the flesh and blood world, as they all evidently are – compare when it comes to digital footprints (an explanation of which can be found above, or more in-depth by clicking through here).

The uniformly high scores suggest that this is, from the perspective of cyberspace, a very famous group of women.

Which of the Music Industry’s Top 25 Most Powerful People has the Largest PeekScore?

Back in January, Billboard Magazine compiled and published what they called The Power 100; their list of who they’d determined to be the 100 most powerful people (or pairs of people) in the music industry.

In recent years, the nature of the business, and the sorts of folks who hold power within it have changed quite a lot. You can read Billboard’s assorted takes on all of that, as well as the whole Power 100 list by clicking the highlighted link here.

What does this have to do with PeekYou and PeekScores? Well, if you’ve not already guessed we’ll tell you. We’ve decided to take the top 25 entries from Billboard’s Power 100 and analyze and compare not their various powers within the music industry, but instead their assorted impacts and presences here in our beloved World Wide Web. Simply, using the PeekScore scale we’re taking a look at these music moguls’ digital footprints (an explanation of which can be found above, or more in-depth by clicking through here).

The folks topping our list should surprise no one, as they’re two of the biggest pop stars on the planet (in addition to their wielding power within the greater industry). But even once we descend the list and begin to observe cyber-impacts more approaching those of mere mortals, the PeekScores remain on the rather healthy side. Some of these folks have a social media presence, but mostly the scores are as robust as they are due to the routine coverage in the music and finance trades people in their positions of influence tend to receive.

Quick disclaimer: While we’re only looking at the top 25 slots from Billboard’s list today, our list is a bit longer due to Billboard including the occasional pair of folks on theirs. We’ve indicated where an individual is a part of a pair, and with whom they share their power.

With this PeekScore survey, we’re taking a look at the online lives of some men and women whose considerable fortunes were made providing the world with accommodations, a chance to get away from it all, and/or a home away from home. We were going to call this one a list of top hoteliers, but that didn’t quite sum up the entirety of what some of these folks do.

This isn’t a look at the quality of the work of these individuals, the successes they’ve had with their businesses, nor the amenities their hotels provide. This is a look at the impacts each of of these women and men have made here on the Internet. We’re comparing their PeekScores, as we always do (an explanation of which can be found above, or more in depth by clicking through here).
