Which of the 2012 NBA All-Star Starters has the largest PeekScore?

What is PeekScore?: PeekScore is a rank from 1 to 10, assigned to every person. The higher someone’s score, the “more important” they are on the web. In calculating your PeekScore and updating it often, PeekYou takes into account your known presence and activity on the Internet, including but not limited to; your blogging, participation in social networks, the number of your friends, followers, or readers, the amount of web content you create, and your prominence in the news. For first time visitors a more in-depth explanation of what the PeekScore is, and how to increase your own, can be found by clicking through here.

On Sunday, February 26, the 2012 NBA All-Star Game will be taking place. Doing as we do things around here, we’ve decided to take the starting line-ups for each conference’s team, and toss them all together in a ten-man PeekScore list.

As a reminder, and for first time visitors, this is not a measurement of these gentleman’s abilities on the court, nor is it an assessment of their wealth or sizes. This is a comparison of their respective impacts here on the Web, quantified from 1 to 10, according to our PeekScore scale (a more in-depth explanation of which can be found above, and by clicking through here).

Any surprises for you below? Any reserve players you’d like to also see included? Let us know in the comments.

In certain quarters, these days, we hear much talk of things such as sustainability, alternative and renewable energies, conservation, and environmental friendliness. More and more as time passes, young companies have been sprouting up, determined to be commercially viable while making what they believe to be no negative ecological impact on their environments. (For more information on such businesses, and the philosophies behind them, you could do worse than starting with the WikiPedia entry on such companies here).

With this entry, we’re highlighting the CEOs of ten of the most prominent companies of such a description. We’re not assessing these individuals, or their companies, based on their successes or failures in any areas. We’re merely measuring and comparing their respective impacts here in cyberspace – their digital footprints, as it were – as indicated on our PeekScore scale (an explanation of which can be found above, or more in depth by clicking through here).

Are there any such sustainable businesses you’d have liked to have seen us include? Let us know in the comments.

The Grammys have come and gone, and by now it’s pretty well known far and wide that the night’s big winner was British, blue-eyed soul songstress Adele. But is she the big winner here on the Internet? Well, as it just so happens, we here at the PeekScore blog believe we may have an answer to just such a question. And if you’ve been here before, you’re probably not surprised.

With this entry, we’ve taken this year’s big Grammy winners and ranked them according to the sizes of their digital footprints, as quantified on our PeekScore scale (an explanation of which can be found in brief above, or more in-depth by clicking through here). With the groups and duos who won – as PeekScores, at this time, only measure individuals – we’ve taken the most prominent members, and used their scores for this survey.

What were some of your favorite records this year? Did you watch the Grammys? What did you think of the telecast? Let us know in the comments.

Which of the World’s Most Eligible Bachelors has the Largest Digital Footprint?

What is PeekScore?: PeekScore is a rank from 1 to 10, assigned to every person. The higher someone’s score, the “more important” they are on the web. In calculating your PeekScore and updating it often, PeekYou takes into account your known presence and activity on the Internet, including but not limited to; your blogging, participation in social networks, the number of your friends, followers, or readers, the amount of web content you create, and your prominence in the news. For first time visitors a more in-depth explanation of what the PeekScore is, and how to increase your own, can be found by clicking through here.

We here at the PeekScore blog don’t concern ourselves, traditionally, with contemplating the varying degrees to which this unattached gentleman or that is or is not “eligible.” We’re not particularly eager to see the world married off, and we don’t – for varying reasons – harbor much in the way of fantasies of being swept off our feet by handsome playboys and/or roguish princes. We don’t necessarily consider ourselves out of our depth here, as we’re not entirely without opinions on such things, but for the most part we remain ambivalent. So, please take this list in the spirit intended.

Some of these fellas are in longstanding relationships, and others are well known for not laying their heads in one place for long. The defining characteristics here are only that each of these men is unmarried and that each is some combination of incredibly wealthy and/or handsome (degrees of each do vary rather dramatically, and perception of the latter is subject to the eye of the beholder). In short, those who make it their business to assess these things more earnestly than we, often include these men when compiling their own lists of this nature.

But, we do not rate the superhunks, we do not judge the self-made men vs. those born into their fortunes (and sometimes their looks), nor do we speculate as to how gentle or kind this billionaire or that movie star might be. We rate the digital footprints of individuals (an explanation of which can be found above or by clicking through here), and that’s what we’ve done here today.

Are there any “eligible bachelors” we should have included instead? Do any of these PeekScores surprise you? Let us know in the comments.

The PeekScores of the CEOs of Internet Companies with the Largest IPOs

There’s been quite a lot of hubbub lately surrounding Facebook’s filing of the papers necessary to begin selling their stock publicly this spring. As the subject line of this entry here makes clear (although we’ll concede it’s a mouthful), we decided to take Mr. Zuckerberg – a longstanding PeekScore fave, and a gentleman in rather consistent possession of a very high PeekScore – and stack him up against the CEOs of some other internet companies who made waves in the markets, and throughout the world, at the time of their own initial stock offerings.

As we traditionally disclaim, this is not a measurement of any aspect of these men as businessmen, or of their businesses, and it’s surely not a commentary on the the size of their companies’ respective IPOs. Instead, this is a survey of these men’s digital footprints; an explanation of which can be found above, or more in-depth by clicking through the link found here.
