Super Bowl XLVI: The PeekScores of the New England Patriots’ Top Players (and Head Coach)

What is PeekScore?: PeekScore is a rank from 1 to 10, assigned to every person. The higher someone’s score, the “more important” they are on the web. In calculating your PeekScore and updating it often, PeekYou takes into account your known presence and activity on the Internet, including but not limited to; your blogging, participation in social networks, the number of your friends, followers, or readers, the amount of web content you create, and your prominence in the news. For first time visitors a more in-depth explanation of what the PeekScore is, and how to increase your own, can be found by clicking through here.

This here is one of a pair of entries, assessing the online impacts of the most prominent individuals comprising the two teams who will be facing off against each other in Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis on February 5, for Super Bowl XLVI. In this entry we look at Tom Brady, Bill Belichick, and the current top players for the New England Patriots.

In keeping with the sorts of things we often disclaim, we stress that this is not a commentary on the athletic prowess, wealth, generosity, or manliness of any of the fellows listed here. This is a measurement and comparison of their digital footprints, as quantified on our PeekScore scale (an explanation of which can be found above, or in more detail by clicking here).

We’ll leave it to the sports experts – both armchair and actual – to opine who who’s better or stronger, or who wants it more. We’re a New York company, with a CEO from New England, so it’s best that we just stay out of talk of winners or losers. We can say with some authority, though, that when it comes to digital footprints these two teams are frightfully, evenly matched. If you’d like to see how evenly, you can click through here to see how the Giants’ top players measure up.

The Digital Footprints of 2012′s Oscar Nominees for Directing

What is PeekScore?: PeekScore is a rank from 1 to 10, assigned to every person. The higher someone’s score, the “more important” they are on the web. In calculating your PeekScore and updating it often, PeekYou takes into account your known presence and activity on the Internet, including but not limited to; your blogging, participation in social networks, the number of your friends, followers, or readers, the amount of web content you create, and your prominence in the news. For first time visitors a more in-depth explanation of what the PeekScore is, and how to increase your own, can be found by clicking through here.

Here’s our second PeekScore list to tie-in with the 84th Academy Awards (you can see the first entry – wherein we rank the acting nominees – here). This time we take a look at the nominees for Best Director.

This list is comprised of three bona fide living legends (and, in our humble opinion, geniuses), a well-established, respected, and previously nominated helmer, and an Oscar newcomer.

As always, we’re not here to grade these men on their filmmaking skills, and we’re not offering odds on their Oscar wins or losses. We’re simply calculating and reporting on where these men stand in terms of the impact they’re each making here in cyberspace. All five have a presence here, but none greater than that of Mr. Allen, who as of this writing is brandishing our ultimate PeekScore of 10. It seems surprising at first glance, perhaps, but if you poke around the Web a bit, you do see that Woody, his life, and his work are mentioned throughout the ether with tremendous frequency; his recent spike in visibility due to awards season only solidifying his cyber-notoriety.

Are you pleased with the Academy’s choices? Who would you rather have seen nominated? Who do you think might win? Who do you think should? Let us know in the comments.

The Digital Footprints of 2012′s Oscar Nominees for Acting

Among the many things a new year’s dawn brings (wintry months, Super Bowls, Golden Globes, and such and such), little is a source of more brouhaha and hubbub than the Academy Awards. This year is the 84th that Hollywood is throwing this lavish shindig in its own honor, and the nominees to possibly be receiving the statues they’ll be handing out during it have now been announced.

If you’re familiar with our PeekScore blog, you probably can guess what follows next. But let us tell you anyway: First by the appropriate category (actor or actress, primary or supporting), and then followed by a full survey of all 20 acting nominees, we’ve ranked the celebrated men and women by the sizes of their digital footprints (an explanation of which can be found at the start of this entry, and also by clicking through here). We make no statements regarding the qualities of the various performances being recognized, nor are we commenting on the likelihoods of the assorted and inevitable victories and defeats. This is a measurement of how greatly the respective impacts of these men and women are felt here in cyberspace, and how these impacts compare to one another. Let the showbiz pundits opine on that other stuff, we just comment on how much people matter on the Internet.

While the list contains veterans and newcomers, superstars and character actors, everyone nominated surely has a presence here on the web; with the weakest PeekScore still rather reasonable. As awards season has already been underway for a spell, and these names have all been receiving their share of coverage as a result, this is clearly a factor in bolstering the scores of the otherwise lesser knowns.

(After reading through the various categories, scroll through to the bottom to see the full list of all 20 nominees.)

The PeekScores of the Cast of Full House

What is PeekScore?: PeekScore is a rank from 1 to 10, assigned to every person. The higher someone’s score, the “more important” they are on the web. In calculating your PeekScore and updating it often, PeekYou takes into account your known presence and activity on the Internet, including but not limited to; your blogging, participation in social networks, the number of your friends, followers, or readers, the amount of web content you create, and your prominence in the news. For first time visitors a more in-depth explanation of what the PeekScore is, and how to increase your own, can be found by clicking through here.

Some have gone on to build mini media and fashion empires, and some have found religion. Some have gone on to have careers on the Broadway stage, and some have found sobriety. Some have, or at least one has, even been revealed (as long suspected) to have inspired the vitriol behind a massive 90s hit record. With this PeekScore list, exploring the digital footprints of the cast of 80s/90s sitcom Full House – shamelessly pandering to the nostalgia of Generation Y as it is – we are not asking “where are they now?” of a boring and/or inactive bunch.

As they are all still active and out in the world, to varying degrees and in different ways, they all maintain an active online presence; with Twitters and/or Facebooks and/or personal websites being pretty much the rule. And the celebrity news and gossip media and the blogosphere have never stopped mentioning this lot either. The Olsens rule the pack, as is reasonable to expect, but the entire cast seems to have made some impression here in the ether.

Are there any beloved (or even hated) TV shows from your youth you’d like to see us give the PeekScore treatment? Are there any cast members or recurring guest stars from Full House we neglected to include below? Let us know in the comments.

Which of America’s Top Radio Personalities Has the Largest Digital Footprint?

What is PeekScore?: PeekScore is a rank from 1 to 10, assigned to every person. The higher someone’s score, the “more important” they are on the web. In calculating your PeekScore and updating it often, PeekYou takes into account your known presence and activity on the Internet, including but not limited to; your blogging, participation in social networks, the number of your friends, followers, or readers, the amount of web content you create, and your prominence in the news. For first time visitors a more in-depth explanation of what the PeekScore is, and how to increase your own, can be found by clicking through here.

From the gentle tones of public radio, to the abrasive exclamations of the political talk airwaves, to the anything goes environs of satellite broadcasting, with this PeekScore list we’re taking a look at the online lives and impacts of American radio’s many, varied, and most famous voices.

The controversial gentleman narrowly edging out the competition and topping our list is the host of a reasonably popular syndicated show. Many may be surprised to learn that here in cyberspace he’s the king of the radio pack. However, anyone who frequents political blogs and message boards can tell you that many of Mr. Jones’ fans – who frequently and unabashedly share his worldview and agree with his theories – gather and make their presence known and felt throughout the Web. Indeed, it is here in cyberspace more so than anywhere apart from the airwaves that Alex Jones is clearly a big deal.

Of course, it should be added that PeekScores do change. If we were to run these scores again in a month or two, the enormously influential pundit at number two could quite easily find himself on top, or perhaps the legend at number four would for a moment truly be – as he so often has proclaimed – the King of All Media. But at this time – with many large scores to be found, and a strong Internet presence to be detected for the majority of those named below – these are how the PeekScores stack up.

Is your favorite radio personality included below? If no, who might that be? Any surprises for you here? Any thoughts? Let us know in the comments.

Which of the World’s Top Models has the Largest Digital Footprint?

What is PeekScore?: PeekScore is a rank from 1 to 10, assigned to every person. The higher someone’s score, the “more important” they are on the web. In calculating your PeekScore and updating it often, PeekYou takes into account your known presence and activity on the Internet, including but not limited to; your blogging, participation in social networks, the number of your friends, followers, or readers, the amount of web content you create, and your prominence in the news.

It’s been a while since we’ve done a list of (female) fashion/swimsuit/lingerie models here at the PeekScore blog, so we figure we’re due. We’ll spare you the diatribes and justifications we’ve provided for such lists in the past, and simply get right down to it.

Here are ten of the world’s top, current, working models, ranked not by how in demand they are, and surely not by how beautiful they are, but by the sizes of their digital footprints (as explained above, as well as behind this link).

As fashion has long been one of the more progressive industries, in terms of embracing the digital realm, it’s not entirely shocking that all of these women find themselves with a fairly large score. But Kate and Heidi, both still household names many years into their careers, have edged out the competition. More stunning, and less predictable perhaps, would be the third place finish and accompanying score of Ms Lima.

Do you have any favorite models who were left off? Do any of these results surprise you? Let us know in the comments.

Which of 2011′s Top Recording Artists Has the Highest PeekScore?

What is PeekScore?: PeekScore is a rank from 1 to 10, assigned to every person. The higher someone’s score, the “more important” they are on the web. In calculating your PeekScore and updating it often, PeekYou takes into account your known presence and activity on the Internet, including but not limited to; your blogging, participation in social networks, the number of your friends, followers, or readers, the amount of web content you create, and your prominence in the news.

While none but pop music’s very biggest stars sell recordings in anything like the quantities of the pop stars of 15-20 years ago, pop music itself looms as large in the culture as ever. Below is a list of 2011′s top recording artists ranked not according to the quantity of units they moved, but according to the sizes of their digital footrpints.

Of all the popular artists, from all the popular media, none – with the possible exception of athletes – have taken to social networking the way pop musicians have. While the PeekScore is a measurement of an individual’s overall digital footrpint – taking in to consideration all aspects of one’s online life, both active and passive – it surely doesn’t hurt your score to generate your own content, and most of those below are doing plenty of just that (or are having it done on their behalves). Between this and their mostly enormous celebrities – particularly receiving attention in the youth driven music and gossip blogospheres – there’s not a meager PeekScore to be found below.

It will be no surprise to anyone familiar with the internet’s assorted celebrity fixations to see that this list’s top three names all are accompanied by a PeekScore of 10. Within that lofty peak of “Peek” there are subtle gradations, and these three do – as of this writing – fall into line, in sequence as you see below; meaning Gaga’s 10 is slightly bigger than Bieber’s, and so forth. (PeekScores do change over time, and if we were to refresh this list a month from now things might shake out slightly differently.)

Who were some of your favorite recording artists of 2011? Do you have any ideas for other pop music related lists you’d like to see us do? Let us know in the comments.

The PeekScores of 2012′s Golden Globe Award Winners

What is PeekScore?: PeekScore is a rank from 1 to 10, assigned to every person. The higher someone’s score, the “more important” they are on the web. In calculating your PeekScore and updating it often, PeekYou takes into account your known presence and activity on the Internet, including but not limited to; your blogging, participation in social networks, the number of your friends, followers, or readers, the amount of web content you create, and your prominence in the news.

While no one’s 100% clear on who entirely comprises the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, what their credentials actually are, or how precisely their awards show came to be such a big deal, it is now simply an accepted fact that annually the mysterious HFPA throws a big party to give out trophies. Just as reliably, the most gigantic celebrities of the big and small screens – rarely the sorts to refuse accolades, no matter how dubious – show up to collect them.

With 2012 still in its early stages, the time was right for the inevitable Golden Globe Awards, and a ceremony did surely occur. Below are the acting award winners, in all the major categories, plus the Best Director and Best Screenwriter winners just to keep things a smidgen more interesting. We’ve ranked them, from highest to lowest, by the size of their PeekScores (which, as explained above and throughout the blog is how we here at PeekYou provide an at-a-glance assessment of an individual’s digital footprint).

Our fella at number one will surprise no one, we suspect. However the living legend at number two surely surprised those of us here at the PeekScore offices, for brandishing such a large score. But if you poke around the web a bit you’ll see the number makes sense. Although it nearly goes without saying that he has very little to do with actively impacting cyberspace or his presence within it, the internet clearly has no shortage of things to say about Mr. Allen, his life, and his work.

Are there any surprises for you below? Were there any surprises for you at the awards ceremony? Let us know in the comments.

The PeekScores of the World’s Richest People

If you’ve read this entry’s title, then you already know full-well what we’ve got in store for you. Below are the ten richest people in the world (as of March ’11), assessed not by the vastness of their fortunes, the expanse of their holdings, nor even the breadth of their philanthropic endeavors. We are comparing these folks solely based upon the sizes of their digital footprints, as quantified by our handy-dandy PeekScore scale.

Unsurprisingly, the gentleman topping our list is not only comfortably resting atop this chart, he is endowed with the ultimate PeekScore of 10. Given his nearly incalculable global fame, and especially given his specific tech association, his dominance here in cyberspace is a natural.

Any thoughts or comments on this list here? Any surprises for you? Let us know in the comments.
